Joel's Birthday

Yesterday was my friend Joel's 21st birthday!
(Joel's been a close friend of mine since my senior year of high school/his freshman year. I really admire the way he knows something about everything, he's like a walking, talking wikipedia! He also has lots of answers when it comes to me wondering about Jewish practices. He was an usher at our wedding and escorted Scott's grandma to her seat. I am so blessed to have him in my life! Happy Birthday Joel!)
A few friends got together for dinner to celebrate at the Yard House (Good food & drinks!) It was a lot of fun except for the awkward 25 minutes where this guy we went to high school with stopped by to say a bit more than hi. This guy, whom shall remain nameless, seems to be doing really well in his film career (which is great) but the guy has turned into a big fat name dropper! So and so's producing, so and so's directing, so and so's doing a cameo, I'm meeting so and so next week to listen to my score. And the thing that made it really awkward was that Joel's friend Jordan was sitting at the end of the booth, and Joel was in the middle. The name dropper stood at the end of the table, talking over Jordan to Joel for a good 25-30 minutes. Name dropper's girlfriend came over at first to say hi with him, but she left just a few minutes in, maybe she knew what he was up to. At one point, Joel picked up his phone and had a pretend conversation just in hopes Name Dropper would leave, then a few minutes later Joel whispered "Why is he still here?" Haha! There were so many moments where Name Dropper should have left, but he just kept standing there going on and on about himself! Our food came, we ate, he talked... Scott finished his entire meal before Name Dropper finally left! It was nice to see him, we just wish it weren't so awkward and long.

(I just thought I looked kind of cute in this picture.)

This is my friend Iliana. She's funny and very sweet! She's also dating "my brother Danny."
