Quarantined

I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, similar to the one I got from Scott in January. Last time, I waited a week to go see the doctor and he said, "If you would've come in when this started, you could have been better by now." So I told myself yesterday, if it doesn't feel better tomorrow, I'll go to the doctor when I wake up. Of course, I woke up this morning, not feeling any better, so I went to urgent care (I don't have a primary physician because I don't get sick very often...except this year.) I didn't have to wait very long, only ten minutes, I went in, had a nice chat with the nurse that took my temp and blood pressure. A couple minutes later, the doctor came in, checked my lungs (I have a history of bronchitis and asthma,) then checked my throat. As soon as I opened my mouth he said, "Oh my, who gave this to you?" I said, "I don't know..." He said that I have symptoms of strep throat, for which he prescribed the same antibiotics I was on last time and recommended that I gargle with salt water. I'm supposed to stay home today and tomorrow because I'm contagious. Fantastic! Even better, he said that if this comes back within the next few months, I'll probably need to have my tonsils taken out. I'd rather have them taken out now rather than in a few months, but I guess that's not my choice. Keep my in your prayers please!
